A Pomsky is a cross between a Siberian Husky and a Pomeranian. The temperaments of these two breeds have few similarities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ultimately, the temperament of a Pomsky will vary for each dog. You never know which temperament \u2013 Husky or Pomeranian \u2013 is dominant until you meet the dog in person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pomeranian<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Typically, the Pomeranian is a headstrong, happy and friendly dog. Even though a lot of people think it is a \u2018lapdog\u2019 due to its disposition and its attachment to its \u2018own people\u2019, this is not necessarily the case. On the contrary: the Pomeranian is an attentive and inquisitive dog with a healthy dose of alertness and watchfulness, which is often expressed by barking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Husky<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Unlike the Pomeranian, the Husky is inclined to be more open to strangers because they were originally bred as sled dogs and they’re used to working with different people while living in a pack. The Husky is a highly energetic dog with great stamina. It is also a very affectionate, enthusiastic and friendly dog that needs lots and lots of exercise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pomsky temperament<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It is impossible to predict exactly which characteristics will be most prominent in a Pomsky. After all, this is different for every dog. Typically, the Pomsky tends to be an enthusiastic, curious, inquisitive and friendly dog. A dog that is very focused on the family in which it grows up. Pomskies are well aware that they can draw attention with crazy antics and clownish behaviour. You could say that your average Pomsky has a good sense of humour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pomskies are energetic dogs. This means that it doesn\u2019t take much for them to respond enthusiastically to pretty much anything. Pomskies are easy to train thanks to their inquisitive behaviour and dedication to their owner, as long as the owner has the upper hand. If you follow a basic training course with your Pomsky in the first year and stick to clear and consistent rules at home, you will end up with a loyal and obedient dog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Housing a Pomsky<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
