Pomsky parentage<\/strong>
Pomskies are a cross between a Husky (mother) and a Pomeranian (father). It is a relatively new breed. At PomskyNederland we only breed the so-called F1 Pomsky, a pure first-generation Pomsky.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

PomskyNederland only breeds F1 dogs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We deliberately only breed F1 Pomskies, because this produces first-generation Pomskies. In our view, you get the strongest and healthiest dogs with this mix, reducing the risk of hereditary problems and defects as much as possible. When you carry on breeding with F1 Pomskies you get the following mixes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We consider continuing to cross-breed, ergo breeding F2 or F3 dogs, to be the start of continued breeding. And continued breeding has certain disadvantages for both the dog and its owner. Each generation of dogs gets smaller, for instance, which is detrimental to the health of the dog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And if you own an F2 or F3 dog you will find it much more difficult to trace the exact origin of the sire and the dam so you won\u2019t know if your dog is a real Pomsky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An F1 cross is healthiest<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In short, a first generation Pomsky \u2013 an F1 Pomsky \u2013 is strongest and healthiest. As soon as you continue breeding new generations (F2 and F3) you are constantly reducing the health and quality of the dog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FCI Pedigree<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the Netherlands, official dog pedigrees must be recognised by the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Cynologique Internationale (FCI). The Pomsky breed has not (yet) been recognised because it is a crossbreed. This means our dogs do not have an official FCI pedigree. We do offer similar guarantees and complete transparency about the origin of our dogs.
